Hygiene
Hand towels are changed daily or as and when required. Each child will have access to an individual wash cloth which are changed and washed daily. All toys are washed with appropriate cleaning products on a regular basis.
All carpets are washed on a regular basis.
Promotion of good hygiene skills for example hand washing will be imparted and encouraged particularly after toileting and before eating.
Tooth brushing is encouraged to benefit dental hygiene, therefore please provide toothpaste and toothbrush for your child. You will also need to provide a toothbrush holder to avoid bathroom contamination and to avoid toothbrush mix ups.
Smoking is NOT permitted within the building
Our dogs are regularly treated with worming tablets and have their annual injections as and when required. Any accidental dog mess will be cleaned up, washed down and disinfected as soon as possible.
It is now a requirement from the Care Commission that childminders now use non-latex or rubber disposable gloves and plastic apron when changing babies nappies.
Baby changing mats are wiped after each use with an antibacterial cleaner.
All baby nappies, creams etc are stored seperately from other babies supplies.
Children who either vomit and/or have diarrhea must be kept at home and the childminder must be informed immediately so that she may take the appropriate action to protect other children from picking up infections. Should this sort of sickness be reported, the Chilmdinder will disinfect all appropriate toys, door handles and other surfaces as a precautionary measure to avoid cross contamination.

Unfortunately, I cannot use "real" nappies for your child instead of disposable ones as this raises issues with hygiene and health during their storage prior to return to the parents for cleaning.
